On the program you will be able to get acquainted with the pipelines of several professions and the basics of the necessary software. This will help you choose which direction of computer graphics you like best.

About the program:
Creating games, movies, and advertising is hard to imagine without computer graphics. This course introduces students to the pipelines of several CG majors at once and helps them choose their future profession.

In this course students will create small projects in Photoshop, Maya and ZBrush; assemble a level in the game engine Unreal Engine; make a motion project in Adobe After Effects; learn how to create special effects and animation for movies in Houdini and Cinema 4D.

You can enroll in this course even if you have no experience at all in drawing and working with 3D. Drawing and anatomy classes will teach you the basics of composition, breaking down complex shapes into simple ones, quick constructive sketches, and drawing characters in dynamic poses.

The goal of the course is to introduce students to several CG specialties in a practical way and to help prepare a portfolio.

  1. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
    Basic tools, working with layers, basics of painting, collages
  2. ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS
    Fundamentals of creating animation, stylized images and motion graphics.
  3. MAYA
    Modeling simple 3D objects.
  4. ZBRUSH
    A basic approach to sculpting in conjunction with other CG graphics packages (Maya, 3ds Max, Unreal Engine, Photoshop).
  5. UNREAL ENGINE 4
    Interface, basics of game design, level building.
  6. CINEMA 4D
    Basic tools of animation creation.
  7. HOUDINI .
    Basic tools, VFX artist’s pipelines in film.

    The basics of composition in color, the principles of creating a series, the design of simple things.
  4. CONCEPT-ART.
    Introduction to concept art, character creation.
  5. MOUSEHOLD DESIGN
    5 Creating a mini-project in After Effects.

    The tasks and specializations of a game designer.
