The Gassy Gnoll has recently discovered a disturbing trend. His piles are growing. And yes, some things I’ve purchased or received from publishers seeking reviews, but the biggest pile seems to be of the products showing up from Kickstarters. Some of these items have been months in the making. Others seem to show up as soon as a project ends.
Here’s a picture of the pile…
You might notice a few things in there such as:
- Encounters – Plots – Places
- Midgard Tales
- Shroud of the Ancients
- Blade Raiders
- Shadows of Esteren 1
- Story War (not pictured)
- the Numenera World Map (not pictured)
- the Camp Myth RPG (not pictured)
- and probably others…
And those are just the physical books and things I have lying around to pore through. It doesn’t include the many PDFs I have to review like:
- Mummy: The Curse
- Mermaid Adventures
- Mecha Combiners
- Slayers of the Great Serpent
- The Red Dragon Inn Guide to Inns and Taverns
- The Solomon Guild: A Gallery of Rogues, Book 1
- Fate Core
- and many many more…
I’ve cut back on my Kickstarter addiction of late, thankfully, but things are still coming from Kickstarters long past… And this doesn’t even include the things I’ve been asked to review or have purchased on my own. The pile is INSANE and OUT OF CONTROL!
Somehow I need to get this situation under control. Perhaps cloning. Time travel. Magic beans. I don’t know at this point. But it’s rough. And I *DO* want to review it all. But there are only so many hours in a day. I suppose I could stop sleeping all together, but I’m dangerously close to that as it is…
So here are my questions for you…
First, what would you like to see me do with all these amazing books and games? Do you want me to break reviews into smaller pieces (some of these are going to take a while to work through)? Or just hold off until I have time to review the whole darn thing?
Second… What kinds of things have you received lately (or even a while back) from Kickstarters that you haven’t yet had a chance to dive into? Or what HAVE you had a chance to dive into? What exciting things are you discovering? Curious minds want to know!
